About Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging

Mission Statement:

The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a charitable, non-profit corporation dedicated to providing a comprehensive array of the highest quality health and human services to residents of Clearfield County. We will accomplish this mission by committing to our guiding principles of Integrity, Coordinated Community Partnerships, Best Service, Progressive Attitudes, Professionalism & Teamwork and Investment in our Employees and Volunteers.

Locations

Our Main Office is located in Clearfield, Pennsylvania at 103 North Front Street. 

In 2016 CCAAA aquired and refurbished our new meal production site located at 600 Cooper Road in Curwensville, Pennsylvania. The new meal site is more centrally located, which has allowed more hot meals to be delivered to older adults in our community.

1977: Incorporation of Agency

1981: Agency Logo is chosen

1984: Blizzard Box Program begins

1987: One Millionth Meal is Served

1989: New Corporate Office and Senior Center opens 

1989: Agency becomes sponsor of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

1990: Administration on Aging's National Community Achievement Award for Blizzard Box Program is awarded

1992: Mature Resources Foundation (MRF) begins

1993: Two Millionth Meal is Served

1995: Friends of the Area Agency on Aging is founded 

1996: Agency's Guiding Principles are developed 

1996: Awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Grant: Faith in Action

1997: JC Penney Golden Rule Award: Faith in Action received

1998: Medical Assistance Waiver Program begins

1999: Phillip Morris and Meals on Wheels of America Senior Helping Grant is received

1999: Quality of Life Award: Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership is conferred 

2000: Agency chosen as Beta Test Site for Beacon Information and Referral  

2000: Agency chosen as Beta Test Site for SAMS (Senior Client Database) 

2002: Agency 25th Anniversary

2005: Meal Production & Distribution Center

2007: Agency 30th Anniversary

2008: Agency Named Major Employer of the Year

2011: Awarded MOWAA "Building the Future" Impact Grant

2011: SM@ART Dining Began

2011: Compressed Natural Gas Program Began

2012: Agency 35th Anniversary

2012: New CEO after 30 years

2012: Awarded Pennsylvania Department of Enviromental Protection "Alternative Fuel Grant" (AFIG)

2013: Healthy Steps in Motion begins to be offered in our centers

2014: Clearfield Center for Active Living relocated from Front Street to 2nd Street

2015: Evidenced based staff credentialing began for numerous programs

2016: Purchased, renovated and moved the Meal Production Site from Clearfield to Curwensville

2016: Senior Housing Town Hall conducted with members of the community discussing housing needs for Elders

2016: Purchase of first homes creating options of affordable housing for Elders in our community

2017: Further certification of staff in evidenced based programs occurred

2017: Agency 40th Anniversary

2017: Partnership with The Curwensville Presbyterian Church to bring shared housing to a Curwensville neighborhood

2017: Awarded PHARE grant and the Clearfield County Affordable Housing Trust Fund Grant for purchase of first Elder Cottage

2018: First Elder Cottage placed in Sandy Township, Pennsylvania

2018 : Purchased the Old Girard-Goshen Elementary School and 23 acres for the development of a multi ability; multi- generational inclusive community (MAGIC) known as The Village of Hope

2019: Numerous presentations throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states by CEO for The Village of Hope

2019: CEO awarded Distinguished Citizens Award from the Greater Clearfield Chamber of Commerce

2019: Awarded PHARE grant for purchase of second Elder Cottage

2019: Second Elder Cottage to be placed in Decatur Township, Pennsylvania
