CCAAA, Inc. Awarded Computer

The Agency was awarded a new Compaq computer by Synergy Software Technologies. The award was announced at Synergy’s national training conference on September 7, 2001. Synergy, presently under contract to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, is the producer of SAMS software, a database program for Area Agencies on Aging and state level departments of aging. SAMS is presently used in 25 states by AAAs and their provider organizations as well as by several state aging offices.

All agencies attending the national conference were invited to submit proposals prior to the training event describing their computer needs and how they would use the computer if they received the award. Our Agency described the rural aspects of western Pennsylvania and the success we have had in serving high numbers of older persons and their families. We also described our premier information and referral system, INFO LINK, and its extensive use by persons of all age groups. The Agency’s INFO LINK program was mentioned by Synergy when they announced the award.

The new computer is now used by the CCAAA, Inc. in our monthly data tracking and reporting to the Department of Aging.
