Reporting

Purpose

To protect older adults and persons with disabilities from abuse, neglect, and exploitation by investigating and providing or arranging services necessary to alleviate or prevent further abuse.

 

   

Indicators of Elder Abuse and Neglect

Bruises, welts, burns, lacerations
Lack of food or food is spoiled
Utilities have been shut off
Excessive garbage, newspapers
   and boxes
Odor penetrating from the house       
Evidence of rats, mice, fleas
Inadequate or inappropriate clothing
Unexplained withdrawals of money
   from bank account
